Namaste

Welcome to my website. Have a look around it and if you have any questions then feel free to contact me.  I am qualified and insured to teach with Yoga Scotland and am a member of the British Wheel of Yoga.

I have also trained with Judy Cameron of Yogabirth in 2008 for the British Wheel of Yoga pregnancy course and offer a special class for mums-to-be from 15 weeks into their pregnancy.

Information on classes & what to expect:

I teach hatha yoga and my classes incorporate a number of different traditions that have influenced me over the years. Classes include breathing practices (pranayama), postures (asanas), flowing sequences and finish with relaxation (savasana) and short meditation.

If it's your first class, try and arrive 5 mins before the start so you can introduce yourself, I can explain the format of the class and answer any questions you may have.

Classes are drop in so no need to book. Prices vary per class, block booking discount available.

Please bring a yoga mat and something warm for relaxation. Yoga mats can easily be purchased online or in sports shops, see links page for recommended suppliers.

If you have difficulty sitting comfortably on the floor (crossed legged or kneeling) then bring a cushion, a blanket or a yoga block with you. I have yoga blocks available to borrow.

Yoga is practised in bare feet.

Try to leave at least 2 hours after a meal before practicing yoga. If you need to eat before class, have something easy to digest like a yoghurt or some fruit. It's best not to drink water during class but have some before and after.

Yoga is non competitive, please respect your body and work within your limits.

If you have any injuries or medical conditions let me know before you start the class. Some postures or breathing techniques may not be suitable for you but can be modified if I know about it. Consult your GP if you have any health concerns. If you are pregnant please join the pregnancy class.

Finally, yoga is a lifelong journey. You may not see instant results but over time and with practice you will notice changes to your body and mind, the benefits of yoga will then truly be seen.
