My own teaching style comes from a combination of yoga traditions that I have practiced for over 10 years. I took my teacher training Diploma with Yoga Scotland over a period of 2 years (500 hours) and have been teaching in Glasgow since 2006. My regular classes follow a vinyasa flow style yoga (moving with the breath) but also pay attention to physical alignment in order to practice safely. I encourage students to see their yoga not just as a form of exercise but a spiritual practice encompassing the attitudes and observances that yoga philosophy teaches us.
I feel privileged to have been taught by many inspiring teachers from around the world and it is this inspiration that I try to bring into my own classes. For me, yoga offers so many valuable tools to help lead a more balanced and healthy lifestyle. I hope I can offer this to you too. I continue to attend regular workshops and further training to ensure that I keep my teaching interesting and my students learning.
Finally, I would like to thank the teachers who have influenced my practice over the years and my teaching: Tara Fraser at Yoga Junction, Srivatsa Ramaswami (Vinyasa Krama) and more recently the work of Paul Grilley & Sarah Powers (Yin Yoga) Max Strom & Seane Corn (Vinyasa Flow Yoga) and of course the wonderful energy and inspiration I get from the teachers at Jivamukti in London.
Om Shanti.
